During a freak snowstorm, classes were cancelled and the girls were permitted to wear slacks.
It was easy to get in to Lesley. "It wasn't because of my outstanding achievements, it was an easy school to get into...In retrospect...I was more Radcliffe material, probably, but nobody in the family suggested that I go to Radcliffe, so I didn't contemplate it, didn't consider it."
"Yes [my brother] was pleased that I went to Lesley, he could keep an eye on me. He was master spy for my mother and father to make sure that I was where I was supposed to be."
"There wasn't much of anything at Lesley...Lesley was a sweet, little place, but...well, I guess if you look in the yearbook, you might see glee club or French club or something like that, but not much in the way of extracurricular activities...I practically audited the Harvard curriculum, it was so much. I remember hearing Robert Frost when I was at Lesley, but it wasn't on the Lesley campus. The Lesley geography was the most important thing. I now that you are now a venerable school and I wouldn't diminish what Lesley has become, but in those days it was the location, the fact that there was so much rich culture right there."
