AP: "There were a lot of debutantes."
JMF: "Oh yeah. They all…they came from…most of them came from Brookline."
AP: "You said they taught you a lot?"
JMF: "Well, I listened to them."
AP: "What did you learn?"
JMF: "Well, I learned that they had a lot of boyfriends and they went to a lot of parties. And they told me about the parties. And they told me about champagne. And clothes...And…they taught me a lot about Boston and shopping. I had…been shopping with my grandmother many times but they’re kind of shopping was much more…well they were sophisticated girls. And I was a country girl. And I was proud of it."
