"There was relatively little drinking. Alcohol was not around at that time, especially on campus. No one was wearing pants then, we wore largely skirts."

"We had a nice social relationship with President White. He was relaxed, social, informal, encouraging, unlike the Dean. He was like a member of the family, and his wife was amazing too. She was a bit younger and personable, they lived right next door in the red brick place. She was friendly and helpful and supportive. I think he was responsible for changes that started to happen at that time.
I don't think of my time there as highly academic, but it almost wasn't even a real focus, because you're so involved with things that had to do with children that it wasn't departmentalized into relevant studies. No connection but we all got teaching jobs quite easily as a result of it."
