AP: "Did you have any interaction with President Orton?"
IC: "Yes ‘cause, I think that’s why I thought I was the only foreign student for a while. ‘Cause Thanksgiving, he would invite me to his to have Thanksgiving dinner at his house with his family."
AP: "Oh, wow."
IC: "But I remember that, you know. And that was my first formal Thanksgiving Dinner ‘cause, you know, I. The tradition of Thanksgiving. That was…that was when he had the big family. "
AP: "It was with his first wife?"
IC: "(Yes.) And his children."
AP: "Wow. That was very generous of him."
IC: "I know, yeah, that’s why I thought I was the only foreign student. I think that he took the only foreign student. ‘Cause I don’t remember anyone else."
AP: "And…and being foreign student, did you experience any prejudice at all in Boston or in Cambridge or…?"
IC: "No, I don’t think so."
AP: "No, nothing."
IC: "I don’t think so but anyway not on campus."
AP: "Right."
IC: "And…even in Cambridge, basically I don’t think so."
AP: "I was just curious."
IC: "Maybe I wasn’t sensitive, you know, I don’t know." (Laughs).
AP: "Yeah, I just…just curious to know if...what it was like for you."
IC: "Yeah, yeah, yeah…I don’t remember. They know I’m different. All I know is that I’m different and they know I’m different. But we seemed to accept our differences. Yeah."
AP: "Do you think it was the climate of Cambridge?"
IC: "Could be."
