"I remember my interview with Martha Ackerson...I mean she looked at my grades and...I think they knew that they needed somebody like me because I had done so well in high school...I had a pre-college requisite."

"I didn't want for friends...and I kind of blossomed socially because of the black fraternal and sorority 05 organizations. These girls at Lesley would go off to the college inn...they would go off downtown to the red light district...I didn't go with them because I went...into my black world in Roxbury...It was a lot of fun. We used to have parties at people's parents' homes. No drinking allowed, we just danced to music."
